CLICK HERE FOR B.O.B. nothin on u HD vIDEO

Having satisfied the streets with his last single B.o.B‘s shifted his focus to that other all-important demographic; the ladies. On his latest selection, the ATL buzzmaker tells the object of his affection not to worry about all those other women – after all, they’ve got “Nothing on You.” Bobby Ray clearly knows exactly how to make a girl happy, but his fresh-as-ever flows should be a hit with heads of both genders. Backed by The Smeezingtons’ driving, piano-led boardwork, Bobby Ray drops lovestruck bars as agile as they are flattering, and R&B singer Bruno Mars seals the deal, serenading the woman in question with a silky-smooth bridge and chorus – he even manages to make a Nintendo 64 reference sound romantic, which, if you’d asked me yesterday, I would have told you was impossible. B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray, the rapper’s long-awaited studio debut, is set to hit record stores and online retailers sometime in spring 2010 April 27. In the meantime, keep it locked to the Booth for all the latest!

Rihanna has acquired another #1 single with “Rude Boy.” This is Rihanna’s 5th #1 solo-lead single (6th overall) in her career of almost 5 years. You know what that means, there will defeinitely be no more “all black everything” for Rihanna’s music: color and sunshine straight through.

HISTORY101: AFRICANS WERE IN AMERICA B4 THE BIRTH OF CHRIST

"RECONSTRUCTING HISTORY IS THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE VIOLENCE"
A celebrated classic, They Came Before Columbus, deals with a number of contacts -- both planned and accidental, between Africans and Americans in different historical periods. Evidence for a physical/cultural presence of Africans in Early America is methodically examined.

Van Sertima reveals to us a compelling, dramatic and superbly detailed documentation of the presence and legacy of black Africans in ancient America.

With his considerable scholarship, Van Sertima examines the facts of navigation and ship- building, the sources of latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates, the scores of cultural analogies found nowhere else except in America and Africa, African languages and the transportation of plants, cloth and animals from Africa to the Americas. And from the diaries, letters and journals of the explorers themselves; from Carbon-14 dated sculptures found in the Americas; from the Arabic documents, charts, maps from the recorded tales of the griots to the Kings of Mali; from dated skeletons found as recently as 1975, the author builds his pyramid of evidence.

In addition to a scholar's fastidiousness, Van Sertima has the skill of a novelist, and with it recreates some of the most powerful scenes history has to offer: the launching of the great ships of Mali in 1310 (200 master boats and 200 supply boats); the sea expedition of the Mandingo king himself in 1311, and many others, equally as vivid.

It is the marriage of these twin crafts--the artist's and the scholar's--in the book that makes it possible for us to see clearly the unmistakable face and handprint of black Africans in Pre-Columbian America, and their overwhelming impact on the civilization they found here.

CLICK HERE ERyKAH BAdU wINDOw sEAT VIDEO 3:33 IS 2MORROW!!!

Erykah Badu's "Window Seat" video is inspired by indie duo Matt & Kim's video for "Lessons Learned," which means the R&B goddess is stripping naked in public as strangers stare her down. The similarities end there, though.
Badu's choice of location carries some serious political connotations -- it was filmed in one take at Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Tex., the site where John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. Once Badu gets all the way down to her curvaceous birthday suit, a gunshot rings out and her body collapses on to the sidewalk, as blue blood spills out to form the word "groupthink." Then Badu says in a voiceover, "They play it safe, are quick to assassinate what they do not understand...they are us. This is what we have become. Afraid to respect the individual. A single person within a circumstance can move one to change. To love ourself. To evolve."
Needless to say, the "Window Seat" video is generating passionate debate -- a well-timed one, considering that Badu's "New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh" album is set to drop tomorrow (Mar. 30) -- and Badu kept the conversation going on Twitter. "Funny thing is, the physical nudity is nothing lol," she tweeted. "I been naked all along in my words actions and deeds. thats the real vulnerable place." Badu added that she's not surprised by people's differences of opinion toward the clip. "I expected the gossip blog sites to spin it negatively. i expected people to ride with me."
On the complaints about her decision to go naked on camera, Badu says, "Funny, i thought i was outta shape thus encouraging others toward self love .. but they think im showin off . lol . the irony . sheeeezus!"

CLICK HERE MYSTIKAL IS BACK LLOYD FEAT MYSTIKAL "SET ME FREE"

Looks like T.I. isn’t the only rapper staging a return to the rap game after being incarcerated. Following a six-year stint in the slammer for sexual battery and extortion charges, Mystikal (real name: Michael Lawrence Tyler) has professionally resurfaced on “Set Me Free,” a new track from fellow New Orleans artist Lloyd off DJ Smallz’ mix tape Follow Me Part Two. Get a load of the cut after the jump.

“Feels like I got the whole world in my pants/ Girl you can set me free/ I’m feeling like Ali/ In his prime/ I’m a P.I.M.P.,” Lloyd sings in his silky smooth tenor voice!

But the real icing on this southern-fried meeting of the minds is Mystikal’s rap interlude: “Stop lyin’ on me/ I smash these rappers and pick up trash at the same time, homie/ Young Lloyd called me and told me to sick the dog on ‘em/ I’m a doberman pincher/ I got meaner from being behind that fence.”

Well, guess we know now who let the dogs out. Lloyd, who currently features on Young Money’s chart smash “BedRock,” talked to MTV News about “Set Me Free.”

“The N.O. is gonna love me for this one,” the new Interscope signee said. “The world is gonna love me for that song. It is the first of many [singles]. Since the album won’t be coming out until later this year, that’s more than enough time to get many songs out. We’re gonna start hitting them pretty hard.”

A CONVERSATION WITH JAY ELECTRONICA

@JayElectronica spoke to Higher Plane about the impact he’s been able to make without the backing of a major label, as well as how he handles adversity and maintains his cool.

HYPNOTIC BRASS ENSEMBLE "WAR" click here to view video

Overworked, overseas: HYPNOTIC and Mos in London, December 2007.

To all our fans worldwide, thanks for the love over the past year.

Check it out, even in 2008 some of America's finest have to go abroad to get critical acclaim and escape ignorance back home.

Chicago music expert/Tribune hack Greg Kot just published his list of "top local indie releases of '07"—10 artists who got it crackin while HYPNOTIC was sitting around being lazy and boring in the Chi, NYC, LA, London, Barcelona...at the North Sea Jazz Festival...and collaborating with everyone from Mos Def to Damon Albarn and Tony Allen. All that, done independently.

Can you think of any band more *indie* that HYPNOTIC? cLICK THE TITLE FOR A VIDEO OF "WAR"......

Thankfully we had a number one record in Japan, Boomkat in the UK put yall up on the view that "Sanfoka" is one of the best songs of the year and now Tim Perlich at Now magazine in Toronto has selected the "Jupiter" CD as one of the albums of the year. Thanks Tim!
